Disclaimer

Last updated: June 19, 2026 · Effective: June 19, 2026

The information and tools provided by DiffChecker Pro ("Company," "we," "us," or "our") on https://diffchecker.pro are made available for general informational and productivity purposes only. By accessing or using any part of our Service, you acknowledge and agree to the terms of this Disclaimer. If you do not accept these terms, please do not use the Service.

1. No Warranty on Tool Accuracy

While we invest significant engineering effort into the accuracy and reliability of our diff algorithms, DiffChecker Pro makes no representations or warranties — express, implied, or statutory — that the results produced by our tools are correct, complete, error-free, or fit for any particular purpose. Diff and comparison algorithms depend on the quality and encoding of input data. Edge cases, unusual character encodings, binary formats masquerading as text, and malformed documents may produce unexpected or misleading results.

You are solely responsible for verifying the accuracy of any comparison results before relying on them for professional, commercial, or mission-critical decisions. DiffChecker Pro shall not be liable for any errors, omissions, or inaccuracies in the output of our tools, nor for any decisions made or actions taken in reliance on such output.

In particular, our AI-powered analysis features (which summarise differences using large language models) are subject to the inherent limitations of generative AI, including hallucinations, contextual misunderstandings, and incomplete reasoning. AI-generated summaries should never be treated as definitive, authoritative, or legally binding interpretations of document differences.

2. Technical Disclaimer

Our diff tools operate using well-established algorithms (including Myers diff, patience diff, and histogram diff for text; perceptual hashing for images; and schema-aware comparison for JSON, XML, and YAML). These algorithms are designed to produce meaningful, human-readable comparisons, but they are not infallible. Specifically:

  • Character encoding: files using non-UTF-8 encodings (e.g., ISO-8859-1, Shift-JIS) may be misinterpreted, causing spurious diffs or missing genuine differences.
  • Large files: files exceeding the per-plan size limit are either rejected or truncated. Truncated comparisons do not represent the full document.
  • Binary formats: comparing binary files (executables, proprietary formats) as text will produce meaningless results. Use format-specific tools for binary comparison.
  • Semantic equivalence: our tools detect textual differences, not semantic equivalence. Two files that are semantically identical but textually different (e.g., JSON with re-ordered keys) may appear to differ.
  • Image comparison: our pixel-diff and perceptual hash comparisons detect visual changes but may not detect metadata-only differences embedded in image files.
  • PDF and Word documents: extracted text from complex PDFs and DOCX files (e.g., those with tables, forms, or embedded objects) may not faithfully represent the document structure.

We continuously work to improve our algorithms. If you encounter a bug or unexpected result, please report it to support@diffchecker.pro with a description and sample data (remove any confidential information before sending).

3. No Professional Advice

Nothing on DiffChecker Pro constitutes professional legal, financial, medical, security, or other expert advice. The Service is a productivity tool, not a substitute for qualified professional guidance. Specifically:

  • Legal documents: comparing contract versions or legal documents using our tool does not constitute legal advice and does not create an attorney-client relationship. Always consult a qualified legal professional before acting on any document comparison.
  • Security analysis: our tools are not security scanners. A diff of configuration files or source code does not constitute a security audit. Do not rely on our output to make security-critical decisions.
  • Medical or scientific data: comparing medical records, clinical data, or scientific datasets requires domain expertise and validated tools. Our general-purpose diff tools are not certified for clinical or research use.
  • Financial data: diffs of financial records or reports are not a substitute for reconciliation by a qualified accountant or financial auditor.

4. External Links

Our website and documentation may contain links to third-party websites, resources, and services. These links are provided for your convenience only. We have no control over the content, privacy practices, or availability of external sites and do not endorse or assume responsibility for them. Accessing external links is entirely at your own risk, and you should review the terms of service and privacy policies of any third-party site before submitting personal data to it.

5. "As Is" and "As Available" Basis

The Service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We do not warrant that the Service will be available at any particular time, that it will be free from interruptions, delays, or errors, or that it will meet your specific requirements. Scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, infrastructure failures, third-party service outages (e.g., cloud provider incidents), and force majeure events may render the Service temporarily unavailable.

We will make reasonable efforts to restore service promptly following any outage and will post status updates at our status page. We do not guarantee any specific level of uptime, though we target 99.9% monthly availability for paid plans.

6. User-Generated Content

When users save and share diffs via our platform, the resulting content reflects the input of the user who created it, not DiffChecker Pro. We are not responsible for the accuracy, legality, or appropriateness of user-generated content. If you believe shared content infringes your intellectual property rights, please follow our DMCA takedown process.

7. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, DiffChecker Pro, its officers, directors, employees, contractors, and licensors shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages arising from your use of or inability to use the Service, including but not limited to: loss of data, loss of revenue or profits, business interruption, reputational harm, or the cost of substitute services. This limitation applies regardless of the legal theory on which the claim is based and even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.

If you are dissatisfied with any aspect of the Service, your sole and exclusive remedy is to discontinue use. Our aggregate liability shall not exceed the amounts set out in our Terms of Service.

8. Governing Law

This Disclaimer is governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Delaware, United States. Any disputes arising out of or relating to this Disclaimer shall be subject to the dispute resolution provisions set out in our Terms of Service.
